Law enforcement agency means the same as that term is defined in Section 53-1-102.

Law enforcement officer means any officer authorized to direct or regulate traffic or to make
By-law Enforcement Officer means a person appointed as such by the City to enforce City by-laws.
Law enforcement official has the same meaning as the term "law enforcement official" at 45 C.F.R. § 164.103.
Enforcement agency means any agency granted authority to enforce the Federal labor laws. It includes the enforcement components of DOL (Wage and Hour Division, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, and the National Labor Relations Board. It also means a State agency designated to administer an OSHA-approved State Plan, but only to the extent that the State agency is acting in its capacity as administrator of such plan. It does not include other Federal agencies which, in their capacity as contracting agencies, conduct investigations of potential labor law violations. The enforcement agencies associated with each labor law under E.O. 13673 are–
Bylaw Enforcement Officer means a person or persons appointed from time to time by resolution of City Council pursuant to Section 36 of the Police Act, the purpose of which is to enforce regulatory bylaws of the municipality.
Law enforcement unit means an individual office, department, division, or other component of an education agency or institution that is officially authorized or designated by that agency or institution to (1) enforce laws or refer matters of law enforcement to appropriate authorities, or (2) maintain the physical security and safety of the agency or institution.
Legitimate law enforcement purpose means a goal within the lawful authority of an officer that is to be achieved through methods or conduct condoned by the officer’s appointing authority.
Code enforcement officer means the Code Enforcement Officer appointed pursuant to subdivision (b) of section 3 of this local law.
Regulatory Agencies The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency; the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; the Federal Housing Finance Agency; the Securities and Exchange Commission; and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Chief law enforcement officer means the chief of police of cities and towns and sheriffs of counties, unless a political subdivision has otherwise designated its chief law-enforcement officer by appropriate resolution or ordinance, in which case the local designation shall be controlling.
Agencies means the Department, the Agency for International Develop- ment (AID), the International Commu- nication Agency (USICA), the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), and the Foreign Commercial Service (FCS).
Settling Federal Agencies means [insert names of specific federal entities whose liability is being resolved to make clear that only those entities and each of their direct successors is included] and their successor departments, agencies, or instrumentalities.]
enforcement authority means any person or body having jurisdiction to enforce or to take action under or in respect of the relevant legal requirement.
