Medical Staff Members definition

Medical Staff Members means: (1) medical doctors (osteopathic and allopathic physicians), oral surgeons, and podiatrists employed full-time by UNTHSC, and the student health doctors and UNTHSC employed interns, residents and fellows participating in a UNTHSC sponsored medical academic program and a patient-care program in the UNTHSC, who are duly licensed and registered to practice their profession; (2) medical students, including physician assistant students, who are duly registered in UNTHSC; and (3) medical doctors (osteopathic and allopathic physicians), oral surgeons, podiatrists, and student health doctors appointed to the faculty of UNTHSC on a part-time or volunteer basis, who are specifically approved for enrollment into the Plan by the Plan Administrator and who either devote their total professional service to such appointments or provide services to patients by assignment from the department chairperson. For purposes of the Plan, such persons are “medical staff members” only when providing services to patients by assignment from the department chairperson. Authorization and enrollment into the Plan of part-time or volunteer physicians must be specifically made to the Plan Administrator upon recommendation by a Dean of UNTHSC.

Examples of Medical Staff Members in a sentence

  • The Medical Staff Member shall have no right to a Fair Hearing, and no Notice is required, as a prerequisite to the termination of the Medical Staff Member's Medical Staff Membership and/or Clinical Privileges.

  • The Fair Hearing and appeal process shall be the same for Applicants for Medical Staff Membership and/or Clinical Privileges and existing Medical Staff Members.

  • The only voting members of System Medical Staff committees are Medical Staff Members unless otherwise determined by the MEC.

  • In the event the Medical Staff Member's eligibility to participate in the Medicare and/or Medicaid programs is revoked, suspended, restricted or limited for a period greater than sixty (60) Days, and unless the Board determines that there is good cause to delay automatic termination, the Medical Staff Member's Medical Staff Membership and/or Clinical Privileges at the Hospital shall automatically terminate effective sixty-one (61) Days after the revocation, suspension, restriction or limitation.

  • The PLC with the input and approval of each MEC shall establish system Medical Staff committees comprised of Medical Staff Members and others as may be deemed appropriate or necessary.

  • Whenever a Medical Staff Member's eligibility to participate in the Medicare and/or Medicaid programs is revoked, suspended, restricted or limited, the Medical Staff Member's Medical Staff Membership and/or Clinical Privileges at the Hospital shall be automatically suspended.

Related to Medical Staff Members

  • Medical Staff means all physicians, dentists, oral surgeons, and podiatrists who have been appointed to the Medical Staff by the Board.

  • MEDICAL STAFF LEADER means any Medical Staff Officer, department chair, section chief, and committee chair.

  • Medical physicist means a person trained in evaluating the performance of mammography equipment and facility quality assurance programs and who meets the qualifications for a medical physicist set forth in 41.6(3)“c.”

  • Medical cannabis card means the same as that term is defined in Section 26-61a-102.

  • Drug therapy management means the review of a drug therapy regimen of a patient by one or more pharmacists for the purpose of evaluating and rendering advice to one or more practitioners regarding adjustment of the regimen.

  • Dental Staff means the Dentists who have been appointed by the Board to the Dental Staff;

  • Medical personnel means those persons assigned, by a Party to the conflict, exclusively to the medical purposes enumerated under sub-paragraph (e) or to the administration of medical units or to the operation or administration of medical transports. Such assignments may be either permanent or temporary. The term includes:

  • Medical Specialist means any medical practitioner who is vocationally registered by the Medical Council under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 in one of the approved branches of medicine and who is employed in either that branch of medicine or in a similar capacity with minimal oversight.

  • Professional Staff means the Medical Staff, Dental Staff, Midwifery Staff and Extended Class Nursing Staff;

  • Team Members means the members of the Team, jointly and severally;

  • Outpatient hospital services means preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, observation, rehabilitation, or palliative services provided to an outpatient by or under the direction of a physician, dentist, or other practitioner by an institution that:

  • Teaching Staff means teachers and the principal or head teacher employed at the Academy.

  • Medical director means any physician licensed under Iowa Code chapter 148, 150, or 150A who shall be responsible for overall medical direction of the service program and who has completed a medical director workshop, sponsored by the department, within one year of assuming duties.

  • Support staff member means an employee who holds a position for which no certificate issued by the New Jersey State Board of Examiners is required.

  • Educational personnel means persons who must meet requirements pursuant to state law as a condition of employment in educational programs.

  • Hospitals means either an employee when engaged in repairs, demolition and / or maintenance in any block or portion of a hospital used for the care or treatment of patients suffering from infections or contagious diseases or when an employee is working inside a morgue in which one (1) or more dead bodies are not in refrigeration. Inclement weather will mean the existence of rain or abnormal climatic conditions (whether they be those of hail, snow, cold, high wind, severe dust storm, extreme high temperature or the like or any combination thereof) by virtue of which it is either not reasonable or not safe for employees to continue working whilst the same prevail. Industry allowance means an allowance to compensate for the following disabilities associated with construction work: Insulation includes handling charcoal, pumice, granulated cork, silicate of cotton, insulwool, slag wool, limpet fibre, vermiculite or other recognise insulating materials of a like nature, associated with similar disability in its use. This will also apply where an employee is working in the immediate vicinity who is affected by the use of such materials. Irrigation installer means an employee employed or usually employed in executing any irrigation plumbing. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing such work will include the following: Lagger means a person that insulates or clads ducts, pipes, valves or any other thing used in or in connection with the plumbing and air conditioning industry for the protection of thermal and or acoustics.

  • Audiology means the care and services provided by a licensed audiologist as set forth in the member state’s statutes and rules.

  • Medical Review Officer (MRO means a licensed physician, employed with or contracted with the City, responsible for receiving laboratory results generated by the City's drug testing program who has knowledge of substance abuse disorders, laboratory testing procedures, and chain of custody collection procedures; who verifies positive, confirmed test results, and who has the necessary and appropriate medical training to interpret and evaluate an individual's confirmed positive test result together with his or her medical history and any other relevant biomedical information.
