Mental Health Crisis Intervention definition

Mental Health Crisis Intervention means short-term therapeutic processes which focus on rapid resolution of Acute Emotional or Psychological Distress which is extreme and does not respond to ordinary intervention. The purpose of such intervention is generally to determine the severity of the problem, potential for harm, and to prevent harm to the individual or others.

The mental health waiver can only be used once in a member’s lifetime across any private health insurer.

  • Licensed health care professional means a person who possesses a professional medical license that is valid in Oregon. Examples include, but are not limited to, a registered nurse (RN), nurse practitioner (NP), licensed practical nurse (LPN), medical doctor (MD), osteopathic physician (DO), respiratory therapist (RT), physical therapist (PT), physician assistant (PA), or occupational therapist (OT).

  • Early intervention services means individual programmes for children with developmental delays or disabilities, or children at risk of being developmentally delayed or of having a disability, aged 0 to 6 years, aimed at providing assistance to the child and its family in the areas of physical, emotional, social and educational needs.

  • Health and Human Services or “HHS” includes HHSC and DSHS.
