nonhabitable space definition

nonhabitable space means any space in a dwelling or dwelling unit other than a habitable room, and includes a washroom, bathroom, toilet room, laundry, lobby, communication corridor, stairway, closet, boiler room and other space used for service and maintenance of common use, for access to and vertical travel between storeys and a basement or part thereof which does not comply with the standards of occupancy set out in this bylaw;
nonhabitable space means space used as kitchenettes, pantries, bath, toilet, laundry, rest, dressing, locker, storage, utility, heater and boiler rooms, closets and other spaces for service and maintenance of the building, and those spaces used for access and vertical travel between stories. Examples of nonhabitable space in a sentence

  • Nonhabitable space, except crawl spaces, cellars and storage areas in multiple dwellings shall have a minimum height of seven feet measured from floor to ceiling.

  • Non-habitable space may include mechanical equipment, stair or elevator overruns, or storage.

Related to nonhabitable space

  • Habitable space means space in a building used for living, sleeping, eating, or cooking. Habitable space does not include a heater or utility room, a crawl space, a basement, an attic, a garage, an open porch, a balcony, a terrace, a court, a deck, a bathroom, a toilet room, a closet, a hallway, a storage space, and other similar spaces not used for living, sleeping, eating, or cooking.

  • Usable space means all the space on a pole, except the portion below ground level, the 20 feet of safety clearance space above ground level, and the safety clearance space between communications and power circuits. There is a rebuttable presumption that six feet of a pole are buried below ground level.

  • Grave space means a space of ground in a cemetery that is used or intended to be used for an in-ground burial.

  • Leased Premises means the Leased Premises as defined in Paragraph 1.

  • the Premises means the building or part of the building booked and referred to in the contract

  • mixed-use building means a building or structure containing a residential and non- residential use other than a home occupation;

  • Demised Premises or “Premises” (and whether or not capitalized) is used herein, it shall be understood to mean the “premises leased hereby”; and whenever the term “Entire Premises” is used herein (and whether or not capitalized), it shall be understood to mean all of the contiguous land and buildings owned by Landlord at this location, which include the premises leased hereby.   • Collocation Space means an area of space located in a Building to be used by CLEC to house telecommunications equipment. Additionally, roof or wall space used for wireless interconnection shall be included in the definition where applicable.
