Noxious weed seed definition

Noxious weed seed means the seed or propagule of any species of noxious weed, as defined in Section 5004. As used in this chapter, noxious weed seed are of two classes, prohibited noxious weed seed and restricted noxious weed seed, which are defined in Sections 52257 and 52258, respectively.

Prohibited or primary noxious-weed seeds are usually those of perennial weeds that not only reproduce by seeds but also spread by stolons or rhizomes and which, when once established, are difficult and expensive to control or eradicate. Restricted or secondary noxious-weed seeds are seeds of weeds that are highly objectionable but which can be controlled or eradicated by good cultural practices.
