Examples of Blighted area in a sentence
The New York State General Municipal Law Article 18-C, S-970-c defines "Blighted area" as an area within a municipality in which one or more of the following conditions exist: (i) a predominance of buildings and structures which are deteriorated or unfit or unsafe for use or occupancy; or (ii) a predominance of economically unproductive lands, buildings or structures, the redevelopment of which is needed to prevent further deterioration which would jeopardize the economic well-being of the people.

Blighted area" means an area within the corporate limits of a municipality that has been designated by the municipality's comprehensive plan as being underutilized and within which property values on an equal acreage basis are at least 75% below the surrounding areas due to the condition of the properties located in that area.Sec.
In order for an activity to meet the National Objective of Slums and Blight, the activity must take place in an area that meets the definition of a Blighted area and the project must be shown to eliminate Blight or prevent further Blight per Federal Regulation 24 CFR, Part 570.483(c).
There are two designations of TIF – Blighted area or Conservation area.
