Nuclear waste means a quantity of source, byproduct or special nuclear material required to be in NRC−approved speci- fication packaging while transported to, through or across a state boundary to a disposal site, or to a collection point for transport to a disposal site.
Nuclear Hazard means any nuclear reaction, radiation, or radioactive contamination, all whether controlled or uncontrolled or however caused, or any consequence of any of these.
nuclear energy hazard means the radioactive, toxic, explosive, or other hazardous properties of radioactive material;
Nuclear pharmacy means a pharmacy providing radio-pharmaceutical service.
Nuclear Fuel means any material which is capable of producing energy by a self-sustaining chain process of nuclear fission.
Nuclear reactor means any apparatus designed or used to sustain nuclear fission in a self-supporting chain reaction or to contain a critical mass of fissionable material.
Nuclear coating means any protective coating used to seal porous surfaces such as steel (or concrete) that otherwise would be subject to intrusion by radioactive materials. These coatings must be resistant to long-term (service life) cumulative radiation exposure (ASTM D4082-89), relatively easy to decontaminate (ASTM D4256-89(1994)e1), and resistant to various chemicals to which the coatings are likely to be exposed (ASTM D3912-80). [For nuclear coatings, see the general protective requirements outlined by the United States nuclear regulatory commission in a report entitled "Regulatory Guide 1.54 - Service Level I, II and III Protective Coatings Applied to Nuclear Plants"
Air pollution means the presence in the outdoor atmosphere of one or more air contaminants in sufficient quantities, and of such characteristics and duration as is, or is likely to be, injurious to human health, plant or animal life, or property, or which unreasonably interferes with enjoyment of life and property. For the purposes of this chapter, air pollution shall not include air contaminants emitted in compliance with chapter 17.21 RCW, the Washington Pesticide Application Act, which regulates the application and control of the use of various pesticides.
Water pollution means the unpermitted release of sediment from disturbed areas, solid waste or waste-derived constituents, or leachate to the waters of the state.
Pollution means pollution or contamination of the atmosphere or of any water land or other tangible property;
Insured Risks means fire lightning explosion earthquake storm tempest flood subsidence landslip heave impact terrorism bursting or overflowing of water tanks and pipes earthquake damage by aircraft and other aerial devices or articles dropped there from riot and civil commotion labour disturbance and malicious damage and such other risks as the Academy Trust insures against from time to time subject in all cases to any exclusions or limitations as may from time to time be imposed by the insurers or underwriters;
Marine means pertaining to tidally influenced waters, including oceans, sounds, straits, marine channels, and estuaries, including the Pacific Ocean, Puget Sound, Straits of Georgia and Juan de Fuca, and the bays, estuaries and inlets associated therewith.
Boiler means an enclosed fossil or other fuel-fired combustion device used to produce heat and to transfer heat to recirculating water, steam, or other medium.
Environmental pollution means the contaminating or rendering unclean or impure the air, land or waters of the state, or making the same injurious to public health, harmful for commer- cial or recreational use, or deleterious to fish, bird, animal or plant life.
windstorm means straight line winds of at least 80 miles per
Collapse means the sudden and dangerous distortion of any part of Boiler or Pressure Plant by bending or crushing caused by Steam Gas or Fluid Pressure whether attended by rupture or not. It shall not mean any slowly developing deformation due to any cause.
Spent nuclear fuel means fuel that has been withdrawn from a nuclear re- actor following irradiation, the con- stituent elements of which have not been separated by reprocessing.
Nuclear material means source material, special nuclear material or by-product material;
Emergency Medical Transportation means the transportation, by ambulance, of sick, injured or otherwise incapacitated persons who require emergency medical care.
