Official Inquiry definition

Official Inquiry means the formal administrative or investigative inquiry by a governmental body or other institution or professional body that is legally empowered by statute to investigate the affairs of an Insured.

Examples of Official Inquiry in a sentence

  • Media Costs means reasonable fees and expenses of a public relations firm which You and/or an Insured Person engages with Our prior written consent (not to be unreasonably withheld) for the purpose of preventing or limiting potential adverse or negative publicity in respect of a covered Claim or Official Inquiry.

  • Any number of Claims against, or Official Inquiries involving, You and/or an Insured Person which arose out of or are attributable to or connected in any way with a single Management Wrongful Act or the same conduct or a series of the same, related, interconnected or continuous Management Wrongful Acts or conduct shall constitute a single Claim or Official Inquiry for the purpose of Part A of this Section.

  • You shall, at Your own cost, immediately provide Us such assistance and information as We may reasonably require to enable Us to determine whether or not You are entitled to an indemnity under the Policy, and to enable Us to investigate and defend any Claim, including representation of You or any Insured Person at an Official Inquiry, or investigate any other Claim for indemnity under the Policy.

  • For the purpose of this clause, an Official Inquiry is deemed to be a Claim, even if there is no Management Wrongful Act alleged.

  • Unless otherwise agreed, We shall be entitled at any time to take over and conduct in the name of You the investigation, defence and/or settlement of any Claim or legal representation at an Official Inquiry.

  • If at any time a Claim or Official Inquiry, or part thereof, is determined by Us to be outside the scope of indemnity provided by Part A of this Section, including as determined pursuant to Specific conditions applicable to Part A & B of this Section “1.

  • Where any liability or amount is incurred in respect of any Claim or Official Inquiry which arises from both matters covered and matters not covered by the Policy, Our liability under the Policy is limited to the proportion of that liability or amount which represents a fair and equitable allocation taking into account the relative legal and financial exposures attributable to covered matters and matters not covered under the Policy.

  • Advancement of Defence Costs We shall advance Defence Costs for a Claim or costs for an Official Inquiry, as incurred with Our prior written consent, within a reasonable time of receipt by Us of an invoice from defence counsel and prior to final disposition or adjudication.

  • This cover only applies where the notice compelling the Insured Person’s attendance at the Official Inquiry is first served on the Insured Person in the Period of Insurance, or Discovery Period, if applicable.

  • For the purpose of this clause, an Official Inquiry is deemed to be a Claim, even if there is no Employment Practices Breach or Discrimination or Sexual Harassment alleged.

To be able to submit a DAR, a Principal Investigator must be designated as such by their institution in eRA Commons and be a permanent employee of their institution at a level equivalent to a tenure-track professor or senior scientist with responsibilities that most likely include laboratory administration and oversight.
