Trauma Center or "designated trauma center" means a licensed hospital, accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, which has been designated as a Level I, II, III, or IV trauma center and/or Level I or II pediatric trauma center by the local EMS agency, in accordance with California Trauma Care System Regulations.
Naturopathic physician means a person licensed to practice naturopathic medicine by the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine.

Drug therapy management means the review of a drug therapy regimen of a patient by one or more pharmacists for the purpose of evaluating and rendering advice to one or more practitioners regarding adjustment of the regimen.
Psychiatric hospital means an Institution constituted, licensed, and operated as set forth in the laws that apply to Hospitals, which meets all of the following requirements:
Clinic means a health facility providing health care services to individuals associated with a college or university.
Behavioral therapy means interactive therapies derived from evidence-based research, including applied behavior analysis, which includes discrete trial training, pivotal response training, intensive intervention programs, and early intensive behavioral intervention.
Ambulatory surgical center means any public or private State licensed and approved (whenever required by law) establishment with an organized medical staff of Physicians, with permanent facilities that are equipped and operated primarily for the purpose of performing Surgical Procedures, with continuous Physician services and registered professional nursing service whenever a patient is in the facility, and which does not provide service or other accommodations for patients to stay overnight.
Radiation therapist means a person, other than a Licensed Practitioner or Nuclear Medicine Technologist, who applies radiation to humans for therapeutic purposes under the supervision of a Licensed Practitioner;
Ambulatory means the condition of a person who immediately and without aid of another is physically or mentally capable of traveling a normal path to safety, including the ascent and descent of stairs.
Physiotherapist means a health care professional who is registered in the part of the register maintained by the Health Professions Council under article 5 of the Health and Social Work Professions Order 2001 (establishment and maintenance of register) relating to physiotherapists and:
Health screening means the use of one or more diagnostic tools to test a person for the presence or precursors of a particular disease.
Rape Crisis Center means an office, institution, or center offering assistance to victims of sexual offenses through crisis intervention, medical and legal information, and follow-up counseling.
Physical therapy licensing board or "licensing board" means the agency of a state that is responsible for the licensing and regulation of physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.
Community mental health center or "CMHC" means a facility offering a comprehensive array of community-based mental health services, including but not limited to, inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, emergency care, consultation and education; and, certain services at the option of the center, including, but not limited to, prescreening, rehabilitation services, pre-care and aftercare, training programs, and research and evaluation.
Collaborative drug therapy management means participation by an authorized pharmacist and a physician in the management of drug therapy pursuant to a written community practice protocol or a written hospital practice protocol.
Cancer means the presence of one or more malignant tumours including Hodgkin’s disease, leukaemia and other malignant bone marrow disorders, and characterised by the uncontrolled growth and spread of malignant cells and the invasion and destruction of normal tissue, but does not include the following:
Nursing home-type patients means a patient who has been in hospital more than 35 days, no longer requires acute hospital care, cannot live independently at home or be looked after at home, and either cannot be placed in a nursing home or a nursing home place is not available.
Youth center means any public or private facility that is primarily used to host recreational or social activities for minors, including, but not limited to, private youth membership organizations or clubs, social service teenage club facilities, video arcades, or similar amusement park facilities.
Therapy means the administration of drugs or chemicals to remove toxic concentrations of metals from the body.
Nonambulatory means the condition of a person who immediately and without the aid of another person is not physically or mentally capable of traveling a normal path to safety, including the ascent and descent of stairs.
Step therapy means a program for Insureds who take Prescription Drugs for an ongoing medical condition, such as arthritis, asthma or high blood pressure, which ensures the Insured receives the most appropriate and cost-effective drug therapy for their condition. The Step Therapy program requires that before benefits are payable for a high cost Covered Drug that may have initially been prescribed, the Insured try a lower cost first-step Covered Drug. If the prescribing Physician has documented with SHL why the Insured’s condition cannot be stabilized with the first-step Covered Drug, SHL will review a request for Prior Authorization to move the Insured to a second-step drug, and so on, until it is determined by SHL that the prescribed Covered Drug is Medically Necessary and eligible for benefit payment.
Medical home means a team approach to providing health care that originates in a primary care setting; fosters a partnership among the patient, the personal provider, and other health care professionals, and where appropriate, the patient’s family; utilizes the partnership to access and integrate all medical and nonmedical health-related services across all elements of the health care system and the patient’s community as needed by the patient and the patient’s family to achieve maximum health potential; maintains a centralized, comprehensive record of all health-related services to promote continuity of care; and has all of the characteristics specified in section 135.158.
Centers means the international agricultural and natural resources research centers that are members of the Consortium; and each a “Center”.
URGENT CARE CENTER means a healthcare center either affiliated with a hospital or other institution or independently owned and operated. These centers may also be referred to as walk-in centers.
Cosmetology means the art or practice of embellishment, cleansing, beautification, and styling of hair, wigs, postiches, face, body, or nails.
