Pollutants or Contaminants definition

Pollutants or Contaminants means any solid, liquid, gaseous or thermal irritant or contaminant, including smog, smoke, vapor, soot, fumes, acids, alkalis, chemicals and waste, which after its release can cause or threaten damage to human health or human welfare or causes or threatens damage, deterioration, loss of value, marketability or loss of use to property insured hereunder, including, but not limited to, bacteria, virus, or hazardous substances as listed in the Federal Water Pollution Control Act , Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976, and Toxic Substances Control Act or as designated by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency. Waste includes materials to be recycled, reconditioned or reclaimed.
Pollutants or Contaminants means any pollutant, contaminant or irritant, including, without limitation, any solid, liquid, gaseous or thermal pollutant, contaminant or irritant, or any air emission, smoke, vapor, soot, fume, acid, alkali, chemical, or nuclear material alleged to be a possible or probable carcinogenic, odor, oil or other petroleum product, fungus (including mold or mildew or any mycotoxin, spore, scent or byproduct produced or released by fungi, other than any fungi intended by the Insured for human consumption), or “waste” of any kind whatsoever, including solid waste, waste water, waste oil, infectious medical waste, and human, animal or vegetable waste.
Pollutants or Contaminants means any material, whether solid, liquid, gaseous or otherwise, which can cause or threaten damage to human health or human welfare or causes or threatens damage, deterioration, loss of value, marketability or loss of use to property insured hereunder. “Pollutants or Contaminants” include, but are not limited to, foreign substances, impurities, hazardous materials, poisons, toxins, pathogens or pathogenic organisms, bacteria, virus, and any disease causing or illness causing agents.

Examples of Pollutants or Contaminants in a sentence

  • LIMITED POLLUTION COVERAGE: This Policy is extended to cover the reasonable and necessary additional expense incurred to remove, dispose of, or clean-up the actual presence of Pollutants or Contaminants from Land or water at an insured Location when such Land or water is contaminated or polluted due to a Covered Cause of Loss that occurs during the policy period.

  • There is no liability for the expense of removing contaminated or polluted uninsured property, nor the Pollutants or Contaminants therein or thereon, whether or not the contamination results from an insured event.

  • This Policy is hereby extended to cover the reasonable and necessary cost for the cleanup, removal and disposal of the actual not suspected presence of Pollutants or Contaminant(s) from any source to Covered Property so as to restore the Covered Property to the same condition as existed prior to loss.

  • For purposes of this Agreement, the term “ Hazardous Materials” means all substances defined as Hazardous Substances, Oils, Pollutants or Contaminants in the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan, 40 C.F.R.   • Pollutants means any solid, liquid, gaseous or thermal irritant or contaminant, including smoke, vapor, soot, fumes, acids, alkalis, chemicals and waste. Waste includes materials to be recycled, reconditioned or reclaimed.

  • Contaminants means any pollutants, contaminants, deleterious substances, underground or above-ground tanks, asbestos materials, hazardous, corrosive, or toxic substances, special waste or waste of any kind, or any other substance which is now or hereafter prohibited, controlled, or regulated under Environmental Laws; and

  • Contaminant means any waste, pollutant, hazardous substance, toxic substance, hazardous waste, special waste, petroleum or petroleum-derived substance or waste, asbestos in any form or condition, polychlorinated biphenyls (“PCBs”), or any constituent of any such substance or waste.

  • Gaseous pollutants means the exhaust gas emissions of carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen expressed in nitrogen dioxide (NO2) equivalent and hydrocarbons assuming ratio of:

  • toxic a “pollutant”, a “contaminant”, or words of similar meaning and regulatory effect pursuant to any Environmental Law and also including any petroleum product or by-product, asbestos-containing material, lead-containing paint, mold, polychlorinated biphenyls or radioactive materials.

As used in this Contract: “Release” means spilling, leaking, pumping, pouring, emitting, emptying, discharging, injecting, escaping, leaching, dumping or disposing.

  • Hazardous Substance means any substance that is: (i) listed, classified or regulated pursuant to any Environmental Law; (ii) any petroleum product or by-product, asbestos-containing material, lead-containing paint or plumbing, polychlorinated biphenyls, radioactive materials or radon; or (iii) any other substance which is the subject of regulatory action by any Governmental Entity pursuant to any Environmental Law.

  • Hazardous Substances means any toxic or hazardous substances, materials, wastes, contaminants or pollutants, including asbestos, PCBs, petroleum products and byproducts, and any substances defined or listed as "hazardous substances," "hazardous materials," "hazardous wastes" or "toxic substances" (or similarly identified), regulated under or forming the basis for liability under any applicable Environmental Law.
