Public safety employees means local government employees, including police officers, sheriffs and deputy sheriffs, firefighters, emergency medical responders, correctional and detention officers, and those who directly support public safety employees, such as dispatchers and supervisory personnel.
Public safety employees means those employees who are defined assafetyemployees under CalPERSas of the effective date of this measure, including but not limited to firefighters and peace officers.

  • Public safety employee means a public employee who is employed as one of the following:

PSAPs are public safety agencies such as police, fire, emergency medical, etc., or a common bureau serving a group of such entities.
