Qualifying Facility definition

Qualifying Facility means an electric energy generating facility that complies with the qualifying facility definition established by PURPA and any FERC rules as amended from time to time (18 Code of Federal Regulations Part 292, Section 292.203 et seq.) implementing PURPA and, to the extent required to obtain or maintain Qualifying Facility status, is self-certified as a Qualifying Facility or is certified as a Qualified Facility by the FERC.
Qualifying Facility has the meaning provided in the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act (“PURPA”) and in regulations of the FERC at 18 C.F.R. §§ 292.201 through 292.207.
Qualifying Facility means a generation Facility that has received certification as a Qualifying Facility from the FERC in accordance with the Federal Power Act, as amended by the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978, as defined in 220 C.M.R. § 11.04.

Examples of Qualifying Facility in a sentence

  • Applicable to separately metered service for the sequential production of electrical energy and useful thermal energy from the same fuel source by a Qualifying Facility, as defined in Section 201 of the Public Utilities Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 whose cogeneration equipment meets the efficiency standards set forth in Chapter 18 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Sections 292.205 (a) and (b).

  • If the Facility is a Qualifying Facility or On-Site Generating Facility the Interconnecting Customer may elect to own the meter, in which case, the Interconnecting Customer shall pay to the Company a monthly charge to cover meter maintenance and incremental reading and billing costs.

More Definitions of Qualifying Facility

Qualifying Facility means a cogeneration facility or a small power production facility which is a qualifying facility under 18 CFR Part 292, Subpart B.
Qualifying Facility or "facilities" means qualifying cogeneration facilities or qualifying small power production facilities from which an electric utility within this state has an obligation to purchase energy and capacity within the meaning of sections 201 and 210 of PURPA, 16 USC 796 and 824a-3, and associated federal regulations and orders.

Qualifying Facility or “QF” means a cogeneration or small power production facility that meets the requirements for qualifying facility status under the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978, as amended, and the applicable federal and state implementing regulations.
Qualifying Facility or “QF” means a generating facility which meets the requirements set forth in Federal Energy Regulatory Rules promulgated under Sections 201 and 210 of the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (PURPA) and has been granted status as meeting such requirements. In general, a QF must either produce useful thermal energy and electricity through sequential use of energy or have a renewable resource (e.g. biomass, waste, geothermal) as its primary energy source.
