Quality incentive program definition

Quality incentive program or "QIP" means the end- stage renal disease (ESRD) quality incentive program (QIP) adminis- tered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The QIP measures kidney ((dialysis facility)) disease treatment center per- formance based on outcomes assessed through specific performance and quality measures that are combined to create a total performance score (TPS). The QIP and TPS are updated annually and are publicly available on the CMS DFC website.
