Recess definition

Recess means an intermission or break within a meeting that does not end the meeting, and after which proceedings are immediately resumed at the point where they were interrupted.
Recess means a period during which the House stands adjourned to a day other than the next normal sitting day;
Recess means a segment of free time exclusive of time provided for meals during the standard school day in which students are given a break from instruction.
