Seychelles waters definition

Seychelles waters means the exclusive economic zone, territorial waters, internal waters and all other waters subject to the fisheries jurisdiction of Seychelles.
Seychelles waters has the same meaning as defined in the Seychelles Fisheries Act, 2014.

  • Failure to observe the provisions of this Protocol or the applicable laws and regulations of Seychelles relating to the conservation and management of marine living resources in Seychelles waters, is an offence and shall be liable to a sanction in accordance with the laws of Seychelles.

  • To avoid any adverse effect on small-scale fisheries in Seychelles waters, fishing by Community vessels shall not be authorised in the zones defined in Seychelles regulations nor within three miles around any fish-aggregating device placed by Seychelles authorities, the geographical positions of which have been communicated to the ship-owners’ representatives or agents.

  • This Agreement supplements and mirrors the existing Agreement that we have for EU vessels to have access to resources in Seychelles' waters, thereby reinforcing the political signal being given to the Seychelles as our most important partner in the region.

  • Within three hours of each entry and exit of the zone and every three days during their fishing activities in Seychelles waters, Community vessels shall communicate directly to the Seychelles authorities, in priority by fax or, in the event of failure, by radio their position and the volume of catches held on board.

  • Both Parties shall ensure that only aggregated data related to fishing activities in the Seychelles' waters shall be made available to the public domain, in conformity with the provision of the appropriate IOTC resolution.

  • If a vessel with an observer from Seychelles on board leaves Seychelles waters, all measures shall be taken to ensure the safe return of the observer to Seychelles as soon as possible at the expense of the ship-owner.

  • Should a tuna seiner with a Seychelles observer on board leave Seychelles waters, every step will be taken to ensure that the observer returns to Seychelles as soon as possible, at the ship-owner’s expense.

  • Company’s wharf means the wharf to be constructed by the Company pursuant to this Agreement for the shipment of iron ore from the mineral lease or (except for the purposes of the definition of “harbour”) other the temporary wharf for the time being approved by the Minister as the Company’s wharf for the purposes hereof during the period to which such approval relates;

  • Dredge means a mechanical device that is towed behind a fishing vessel and whose purpose is to collect shellfish from the sea floor.

  • Offshore waters means marine waters of the Pacific Ocean

  • harbour means the harbour shown on the Development Plan to be constructed in accordance with approved proposals and includes a reference to the harbour as finally constructed and surveyed but does not include any jetties to be constructed in the Harbour;

  • Freeboard means a factor of safety usually expressed in feet above a flood level for purposes of floodplain management. "Freeboard" tends to compensate for the many unknown factors that could contribute to flood heights greater than the height calculated for a selected size flood and floodway conditions, such as wave action, blockage of bridge or culvert openings, and the hydrological effect of urbanization of the watershed.

  • Ocean transportation means any transportation aboard a ship, vessel, boat, barge, or ferry through international waters.

  • Campfire means a small outdoor fire intended for recreation or cooking not including a fire intended for disposal of waste wood or refuse.

  • Fertilizer means any substance or mixture of substances that contains one or more recognized plant nutrients and promotes plant growth, or controls soil acidity or alkalinity, or provides other soil enrichment, or provides other corrective measures to the soil.

  • LHSIA means the Local Health System Integration Act, 2006, and the regulations made under it, as it and they may be amended from time to time;

  • Wildland means an area where development is generally limited to roads, railroads, power lines, and widely scattered structures. Such land is not cultivated (i.e., the soil is disturbed less frequently than once in 10 years), is not fallow, and is not in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Conservation Reserve Program. The land may be neglected altogether or managed for such purposes as wood or forage production, wildlife, recreation, wetlands, or protective plant cover.

  • River means a flowing body of water or a portion or tributary of a flowing body of water, including streams, creeks, or impoundments and small lakes thereon.

  • Coastal waters means those waters of Long Island Sound and its harbors, embayments, tidal rivers, streams and creeks which contain a salinity concentration of at least five hundred parts per million under low flow conditions.

  • Oxides of nitrogen means the sum of the volume mixing ratio (ppbv) of nitrogen monoxide (nitric oxide) and nitrogen dioxide expressed in units of mass concentration of nitrogen dioxide (μg/m3);

  • Transient non-community water system or “transient non-CWS” means a non- CWS that does not regularly serve at least 25 of the same persons over six months of the year.

  • Graywater means untreated wastewater that has not been contaminated by any toilet discharge, has not been affected by infectious, contaminated, or unhealthy bodily wastes, and does not present a threat from contamination by unhealthful processing, manufacturing, or operating wastes. “Graywater” includes, but is not limited to, wastewater from bathtubs, showers, bathroom washbasins, clothes washing machines, and laundry tubs, but does not include wastewater from kitchen sinks or dishwashers. Health and Safety Code Section 17922.12.
