SPECIAL PRIVILEGES definition

SPECIAL PRIVILEGES means privileges that fall outside of the core privileges for a given specialty, which require additional education, training, and/or experience beyond that required for core privileges in order to demonstrate competence.
SPECIAL PRIVILEGES means a defined grouping of high-risk privileges or privileges that are beyond fundamental patient care services taught in residency/core privileges, which require additional clinical competency criteria in order to qualify for a privilege(s).
