State Special definition

State Special means the designation applied to an elevator or conveyance subject to the provisions of this Act that is of special or unique construction and cannot be constructed, installed and/or operated in accordance with the applicable ASME Code and the provisions of this Act.
State Special means a boiler or pressure vessel, including related appurtenances, of special construction that may not be constructed in accordance with the ASME Code. See Sections 505.170, 505.1700 and 505.2700 for the procedures for granting a State Special.
State Special means a boiler or fired/unfired pressure vessel of any type or size, which carries neither the ASME symbol nor National Board stamping, which may be acceptable for use provided the manufacturer, installer, or owner obtains a variance pursuant to Rule 010.01.013.

More Definitions of State Special

State Special means any non-code or nonstandard pressure retaining item, including water heaters and kettles, which contain steam, hot water, or air greater than fifteen (15) psi, and are located or installed on school property.
State Special means a boiler or fired/unfired pressure vessel of any type or size, which carries neither the ASME symbol nor National Board stamping, which may be acceptable for use provided the manufacturer, installer, or owner can present sufficient evidence to the Chief Boiler Inspector that the vessel is built to standards which are at least equivalent to the applicable ASME Code.
State Special means a boiler or pressure vessel which carries neither the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code symbol nor National Board stamping but has been accepted by the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction pursuant to 815 KAR 15:025, Section 5.

  • Health maintenance organization means that term as defined in section 3501 of the insurance code of 1956, 1956 PA 218, MCL 500.3501.

  • Child with special needs means a child with one or more of the following conditions:

  • Youth center means any public or private facility that is primarily used to host recreational or social activities for minors, including, but not limited to, private youth membership organizations or clubs, social service teenage club facilities, video arcades, or similar amusement park facilities.

"Sewage sludge" includes, but is not limited to, scum or solids removed in primary, secondary, or advanced wastewater treatment processes. "Sewage sludge" does not include ash generated during the firing of sewage sludge in a sewage sludge incinerator, grit and screenings generated during preliminary treatment of domestic sewage in a treatment works, animal manure, residue generated during treatment of animal manure, or domestic septage.
