Statutory Entity definition

Statutory Entity means any corporation, company, board, commission, authority or other entity established by or under an enactment to provide goods or services to the public or to fulfil regulatory or other Government functions and such entity shall be classified as either State-Owned Enterprise in the First Schedule or a Commercial State-Owned Enterprise in the Second Schedule;
Statutory Entity means: 1. in case of a State: a) any ministry, department, sub-division, instrumentality or agency under the direct control of the state Government; or b) any company, corporation, government undertaking or other authority under the direct control of the state Government; or c) any other entity under the direct control of the state Government or established under law; or d) State Electricity Regulatory Commission, And 2. in case of any other jurisdiction and the Central Government of the Republic of India, the government of that jurisdiction or the Central Government, any ministry department, sub-division instrumentality or agency or any company corporation government undertaking, commission, or any other entity under the direct or indirect control of such government or Central Government, or a regulatory entity established under law;
Statutory Entity means a multimember task force, work group, or advisory committee, that is temporary, established by legislation adopted after January 1, 2025, established for the specific purpose of examining a particular policy or issue which directly and tangibly affects one or more underrepresented populations, and is required to report to the legislature on the policy or issues it is tasked with examining. "Statutory entity" does not include legislative select committees or other statutorily created legislative entities composed of only legislative members.
