VIU Student Residence definition

VIU Student Residence means the student residence buildings and property on the VIU Nanaimo Campus known as “VIU Student Residence” and, where applicable, the VIU Student Residence department of VIU; and

  • These standards are applicable in, on or about all VIU Student Residence property (which includes but is not limited to all VIU Student Residence buildings, parking lots, and surrounding grounds), within online networks, including Facebook or other social networking online media, where the content affects the VIU Student Residence community, and during all VIU Student Residence-related events even if these events take place outside VIU Student Residence property.

  • Unauthorized possession or unauthorized use of VIU Student Residence keys is prohibited and may result in eviction.

  • You agree to pay for damages, lost property or extraordinary service or administrative costs caused by the Resident or the Resident’s guest(s) to the VIU Student Residence through accident, neglect or intent.

  • Throughout the Term, VIU will inspect, maintain, repair and replace elements of the VIU Student Residence in order to keep the VIU Student Residence in a good condition or repair, complying with health, safety and fire standards required by law.

  • The Residential Tenancy Act of British Columbia does not apply to this Agreement and to your occupation of accommodation in the VIU Student Residence.

  • Keys to the Room and other areas of the VIU Student Residence are the property of VIU.

  • VIU may amend the terms of the VIU Student Residence Community Standards Handbook from time to time and may post the amendments in the VIU Student Residence or on the VIU Student Residence website.

  • You agree to read and adhere to all VIU rules, regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines and codes of conduct including, but not limited to, those that may be issued by VIU Student Residence.

  • It is recommended that you take steps to ensure that your personal effects in the Room, bicycle storage areas and elsewhere on the VIU Student Residence property are covered by private insurance.

  • You agree to abide by all federal laws of Canada, all provincial laws of the Province of British Columbia, and local government laws while living in VIU Student Residence.

  • Permanent residence means a place where the person abides, lodges, or resides for 5 or more consecutive days.

  • Student teaching means a supervised teaching practice occurring near the end of an applicant's approved program.

  • Intermittent Resource means a Generation Capacity Resource with output that can vary as a function of its energy source, such as wind, solar, run of river hydroelectric power and other renewable resources.

  • Public School Student Accessing Courses at a Distance means a student who is scheduled for a full course load through the District and attends all classes virtually.

  • Primary Residence means an Insured’s fixed, permanent and main home for legal and tax purposes.

  • permanent resident means any occupant of any room or rooms in a hotel or transient accommodation for at least 90 consecutive days shall be considered a permanent resident with regard to the period of such occupancy.

  • Service Planning Team or “SPT” means a team who includes the Individual and/or the Individual’s identified support network, Contractor’s lead administrative staff supporting medical, behavioral and activity oversight called out in this Contract, Contractor’s Administrator or designee and ODHS Designee. The team is responsible for overseeing the Individual’s Service Plan and all other associated plans or services in this Contract.

  • Modular home means a modular unit as defined in Section 15A-1-302.

  • Person-centered planning means a process for planning and supporting the consumer receiving services that builds on the individual’s capacity to engage in activities that promote community life and that honors the consumer’s preferences, choices, and abilities. The person-centered planning process involves families, friends, and professionals as the consumer desires or requires.

  • Youth center means any public or private facility that is primarily used to host recreational or social activities for minors, including, but not limited to, private youth membership organizations or clubs, social service teenage club facilities, video arcades, or similar amusement park facilities.

  • Community mental health center or "CMHC" means a facility offering a comprehensive array of community-based mental health services, including but not limited to, inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, emergency care, consultation and education; and, certain services at the option of the center, including, but not limited to, prescreening, rehabilitation services, pre-care and aftercare, training programs, and research and evaluation.

  • Residential Development means lands, buildings or structures developed or to be developed for residential use;

  • Medical home means a team approach to providing health care that originates in a primary care setting; fosters a partnership among the patient, the personal provider, and other health care professionals, and where appropriate, the patient’s family; utilizes the partnership to access and integrate all medical and nonmedical health-related services across all elements of the health care system and the patient’s community as needed by the patient and the patient’s family to achieve maximum health potential; maintains a centralized, comprehensive record of all health-related services to promote continuity of care; and has all of the characteristics specified in section 135.158.

  • Affordable housing development means a development included in the Housing Element and Fair Share Plan, and includes, but is not limited to, an inclusionary development, a municipal construction project or a 100 percent affordable development.

  • Residential care home or “RCH” means a residential care home as defined and licensed under the Residential Care Homes (Elderly Persons) Ordinance (Cap. 459), or as defined and issued with a licence or certificate of exemption under the Residential Care Homes (Persons with Disabilities) Ordinance (Cap. 613), or the boarding section of a special school subvented under the Education Bureau, or the residential facilities of the Skills Centre (Tuen Mun) of Vocational Training Council, or a nursing home as referred to in the Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Maternity Homes Registration Ordinance (Cap. 165) which provides residential services for persons aged 60 or above in Hong Kong.

  • Community mental health program means all mental health

  • Student athlete means an individual who engages in, is eligible to engage in, or may be eligible in the future to engage in, any intercollegiate sport. If an individual is permanently ineligible to participate in a particular intercollegiate sport, the individual is not a student-athlete for purposes of that sport.

  • Residentia Group means Residentia Group Pty Ltd of 165 Barkly Avenue Burnley VIC, ACN 600 546 656 in respect of Appliances purchased in Australia;

  • Distribution center means a building or structure used primarily for the storage of goods which are intended for subsequent shipment to retail outlets. Distribution center does not mean a building or structure used primarily to store raw agricultural products, used primarily by a manufacturer to store goods to be used in the manufacturing process, used primarily for the storage of petroleum products, or used for the retail sale of goods.

  • Cooperating country national (“CCN”) means an individual who is a cooperating country citizen or a non-cooperating country citizen lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the cooperating country.

  • Student Growth means the change in Student Achievement data for an individual student between two points in time. Growth may also include other measures that are rigorous and comparable across classrooms.

  • Lawfully admitted for permanent residence means the status of having been lawfully accorded the privilege of residing permanently in the United States as an immigrant in accordance with the immigration laws, such status not having changed.
