Research Programme. Development of advanced nanostructured materials for experiments in the field of magnetic confinement fusion and particle acceleration Research in the field of nuclear fusion is of growing international importance. In magnetic confinement fusion, plasma physics and plasma-wall interaction represent important areas of research. In inertial confinement fusion, the study of laser-plasma interaction and the associated particle acceleration mechanisms are of great importance. In both contexts, a frontier area is represented by the use of structured materials. The researcher will deal with the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured films, using pulsed sources (plasma and laser), which allow to study plasma-wall interaction phenomena in ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and optimize the properties of laser accelerated particle sources. Research Programme. Statistical modelling for electromagnetic compatibility analysis of distributed- parameter systems Aim of the research is the development of models based on advanced statistical techniques for the prediction of electromagnetic interference in electrical/electronic systems involving complex interconnects (wiring harness, printed circuit boards, etc.).
