A Department Chair must. 1. Be a full-time employee. 2. Teach a minimum of three periods within the department at the school site. 3. Must be a member with at least two (2) years of teaching experience in the subject matter area, unless no such member applies for the position. 4. Have a major, minor, vocational credential or meet NCLB compliance in at least one of the subject areas in the department. 5. Work at the school site.
