Department Chair. Department chairs are faculty members whose role is generally described in Article 20 and Appendix E.
Department Chair. “Department Chair” shall mean any person appointed by the President of a University, in accordance with the provisions of Article VI of this Agreement, to fulfill the responsibilities set forth herein with respect to any department of such University.
Department Chair. The Department Chair Stipend Schedule appears in Appendix A. An explanation of the pay structure can be found in Appendices A and G. The level of stipend is dependent upon the criteria listed in Appendix G.
Department Chair. 8.08.04.A A bank of release time from full-time teaching will be provided in each Building for individuals, who also serve as Department Chairs and are assigned duties related to instructional supervision and development. Department Chair. The Department Chair provisions contained herein are made applicable to sites with grades 7-12 students within the District. Departments are defined as having at least seven periods in a subject area. Exceptions may occur at Alternative Sites.
Department Chair. The District shall pay Faculty Members LHE based stipends to perform the duties of a department chair. Compensation for these assignments is defined annually. $1919 per LHE (Effective Fall 2019) [Agreement between CFE/AFT Local 1911, Faculty Unit and CCCD, 7/1/18 – 6/30/20, Article XI, Section 11.17.a.2] Earn Code: FT IUM, PT IUH.
Department Chair. Upon receipt of the department committee recommendations the chair or administrator of equal function shall attach his/her written assessments and recommendations and shall forward both sets of recommendations and assessments to the xxxx/director of the School/College. The chair shall inform the department committee of his/her recommendations. The chair, after consultation with the department committee, may also initiate recommendations for the granting of tenure which, along with supporting documents and written assessments, shall be forwarded to the xxxx; the committee may also forward its assessments and supporting documents to the xxxx. The chair shall notify the faculty member of the department committee’s recommendation and the chair’s own recommendation prior to forwarding them to the xxxx. The chair shall notify a faculty member when the department committee has recommended him/her for tenure or when the chair initiates a recommendation for tenure. In cases where tenure is not recommended, the committee and/or chair may forward a statement explaining the decision to the xxxx. If no recommendation for tenure is being sent to the xxxx of the School/College and it is the faculty member’s fourth (4th), fifth (5th), or sixth (6th) year of service at Xxxxx State University, the faculty member shall be so notified in writing by the chair. In a department with fewer than three (3) tenured faculty members, not including the chair, the chair or administrator of equal function shall possess the authority and functions of the department committee. In such units the chair shall consult with the tenured faculty members prior to arriving at a positive or negative decision. The chair shall notify both the candidate and the tenured faculty members of his/her recommendation.
Department Chair. IV- The assigned time reduction on the teaching load shall equal twenty percent (20%). Compensation will be a stipend as indicated on the salary schedule (see Appendix B).
Department Chair. All observations in an ETS year will be conducted by an administrator.
