Common use of Abandonment of Post Clause in Contracts

Abandonment of Post. An employee absent from duty in excess of three (3) days without a satisfactory explanation shall be considered to have abandoned their post and shall be terminated provided that the employee’s Department Head shall make a reasonable effort to locate the employee.

Abandonment of Post. An employee absent from duty without a notice in excess of three (3) work days without a satisfactory explanation shall be considered to have abandoned their the employee’s post and the employee’s appointment shall be terminated provided that the employee’s 's Department Head shall make made a reasonable effort to locate the employee during the three work days. Reasonable effort shall be satisfied if the Department Head or designee tries to contact the employee at the employee’s address by certified letter and/or two witnessed calls to the employee’s telephone number as the information is recorded in the employee’s official personnel file.
