Academic Credentials. The candidate must hold a recognized Ph.D. or academic credential equivalent to the Ph.D. as determined by the CAPT or publicly available scholarly work judged by the CAPT to be of quality equivalent to doctoral research. Work submitted as equivalent to the Ph.D. may not be counted separately as evidence of continuing scholarship under other sections of this document except to the extent that it exceeds the work normally expected of a doctorate.

Full-time bargaining unit members who earn new academic credentials shall receive a salary increase on either September 1 or January 15 consistent with the point values for New Academic Credentials listed in the grid for Initial Classification Placement for New Full Time Faculty and Faculty Transfers, or the grid for Initial Classification Placement for Full Time Unit Professionals, Reclassifications, and Transfers.
