Common use of Accrued Sick Leave Upon Lay off Clause in Contracts

Accrued Sick Leave Upon Lay off. An employee who is laid off because a position is abolished or because of a lack of work or lack of funds, shall not accrue sick leave during the period of layoff. All accumulated sick leave shall be held for the employee's credit should they return to work during the period provided for restoration or layoff re-employment.
