Adult Mentoring. AAD’s Adult Mentoring program is focused on helping students build strong, effective bridges to the worlds of career employment and/or post-secondary education. With the assistance of our new Made in Durham staff focused on these areas, we anticipate serving 10 WIOA youth in this program in 2016-17, with the hope of expanding its availability in future years. Adult Mentoring. Adult Mentoring is a formal relationship between a youth participant and an adult mentor that includes structured activities where the mentor offers guidance, support, and encouragement to develop the competence and character of the mentee. This program element must be made available for a period of at least twelve (12) months and may occur both during and after program participation. Mentors must be carefully screened and well trained to work effectively and compassionately with youth and provide age-appropriate activities that follow sound youth development principles.

  • Mentoring Program It is recognized that the induction of new teachers through a formalized mentoring program will help to promote excellence in teaching and improve student achievement. The focus of this program will be to build a supportive environment for new teachers within the context of school improvement. Veteran teachers may be asked or encouraged to mentor a new staff member but will not be required to do so. Mentors will be compensated for this work N.
