Advising. 1. The College will provide adequate instructional support services, including advising and counseling, to meet the needs of dual credit students. The parties shall take necessary actions to ensure compliance with any and all advising requirements of TX SB 1277 (2021), including but not limited to designating at least one employee from either institution to provide academic advising to any student who enrolls in a dual enrollment course before beginning the course. Appendix G establishes common advising strategies and terminology related to dual credit and college readiness. 2. In active collaboration with the College, the District/School shall take whatever actions deemed reasonably necessary by the College to fully comply with the advising mandates delineated in TX SB 25 (2019) and TX SB 1324 (2019), which collectively address measures public institutions of higher education must take to facilitate successful transfer, academic progress, and timely graduation through, among other things, the filing of degree plans at certain milestones and the publication of course sequences. 3.
