Counselling. The supervisor will hold a meeting with the Employee for the purpose of discussing job performance deficiencies or unacceptable conduct. A counselling session shall be conducted prior to a verbal warning and will include specific suggestions on performance or conduct improvement. Additional meetings may be held if the supervisor or Employee feel such will ensure mutual understanding and desired correction. The supervisor will make a note in the Employee’s file about what was discussed in the counselling session.
Counselling. (a) Counselling is an informal process whereby employees are advised of unsatisfactory work performance. Counselling is an integral part of the management of employees, and should be a two way communication process. The object of a counselling process is to advise the employee of what standards of work performance, or behaviour are required; to show where the employee is not meeting the required standard; and to ascertain whether there are any requirements for additional training or other resources in order that the employee can meet the required standards.
(b) A formal record of a counselling process need not be made, however it may be appropriate for a file note to be placed on the employee’s file.
(c) A series of counselling sessions may result in a First Written Warning being issued.

Identifying and managing stress and stressful situations, crisis counselling, debt counselling, addiction counselling, following death - support and help for the bereaved family and colleagues to cope with the trauma of their loss, support in dealing with the psychological impact of not being able to continue in employment due to injury and providing information and details of organisations which provide face-to-face counselling.

Counselling. 96.1 In cases where the manager/supervisor or the Chief Executive considers counselling to be the appropriate discipline action, the manager/supervisor or the Chief Executive will create a formal record of the counselling or action plan which will include details about the ways in which the employee’s conduct needs to change or improve and the time frames within which these changes or improvements must occur.
96.2 A record will be made and provided to the employee and the employee given an opportunity to correct any inaccuracies and provide comments before signing the record. If the employee elects not to sign the record, then details of the offer will be clearly noted.
96.3 The manager/supervisor or the Chief Executive will invite the employee to have an employee representative present at the counselling and will allow reasonable opportunity for this to be arranged.
96.4 Where the manager/supervisor or the Chief Executive considers that the employee’s conduct has not improved following counselling given in accordance with clause 96.1, one or more of the discipline actions set out in clause 95.1 may be taken in relation to the employee, subject the requirements of clause 91.5.

The Manager, along with the employee and working in conjunction with the Human Resource Officer, would consider such issues as: a. the relationship of the proposed study to the Business Plan b. the demands of the study program, at a personal and work related level c. any pre‐requisites for entry into the study program.
Counselling. In order to best ascertain and deal with the Adviser's problems associated with the loss of permanent employment the employer will arrange individual counselling sessions with each adviser declared surplus immediately following the announcement.
