Alcoholism, Drug Abuse and Mental Illness. 31.01 The Employer recognizes that alcoholism, drug addiction and mental illness are illnesses which can respond to therapy and treatment and that absence from duty due to such therapy or treatment shall be considered as illness leave. 31.02 When an Employee's work performance is adversely affected by a condition mentioned in 31.01 above, the Supervisor shall offer assistance by referring the Employee to an Employee Assistance Program. The Employee may access the Employer's “Employee Assistance Program”.
