and IV. 13.6.3 or a member who has taken a parental or adoption leave of more than four (4) months during his/her probationary period under IV.13.6.2 and IV.13.6.4 shall, upon written request to the University Librarian, no later than three (3) months following his/her return to duties after pregnancy, parental, or adoption leave, or by August 1st of the year in which he/she was scheduled to be considered for permanency, whichever is earlier, have his/her probationary period increased by one (1) year.

Moonlighting is voluntary, compensated, medically-related work (not related with training requirements) performed within or outside of the institution in which the resident is in training or at any of its related participating sites. All residents that are moonlighting must have a valid TN medical license and liability coverage. Prior approval must be given from the program director and the GME office. PGY-1 residents and residents with a J-1 visa status are not permitted to moonlight. Moonlighting hours must be included in the total work hours reported in MedHub. Violation of the moonlighting policy could result in disciplinary actions up to and including dismissal from the program. (Policy 3.11)
