Anniversary Date and Merit. Step [a] The anniversary date is the date an employee is eligible for merit step consideration. Employee anniversary dates are determined by the date of employment in a position. If employment in a position begins prior to the 15th of the month, the anniversary date is the 1st of that month. If employment in a position begins on or after the 15th, the anniversary date is the 1st of the following month. (Employees hired prior to July 1, 1983, were given an anniversary date of July 1.)
