ANNUAL LEAVE TRAVEL CONCESSIONS. 44.1 Employees stationed in remote areas The travel concessions contained in the following table are provided to employees and their dependents when proceeding on annual leave from headquarters situated in District Allowance Areas 3, 5 and 6, and in that portion of Area 4 located north of 30 degrees south latitude as provided for within Schedule B – Annual Leave Travel Concession Map. 44.2 Employees are required to serve 12 continuous months in these areas before qualifying for travel concessions. However, employees who have less than 12 months’ continuous service in these areas and who are required to proceed on annual leave to suit the employer’s convenience will be allowed the concession. ANNUAL LEAVE TRAVEL CONCESSIONS.
44.1 (1) Employees stationed in remote areas areas
(a) The travel concessions contained in the following table are provided to employees employees, their dependent partners and their dependents dependent children when proceeding on annual leave from headquarters situated in District Allowance Areas 3, 5 and 6, and in that portion of Area 4 located north of 30 degrees south latitude as provided for within Schedule B – Annual Leave Travel Concession Map30o South latitude.
44.2 (b) Employees are required to serve 12 continuous months in these areas before qualifying for travel concessions. However, employees who have less than 12 months’ months continuous service in these areas and who are required to proceed on annual leave to suit the employer’s convenience will be allowed the concessionconcessions. The concession may also be given to an employee who proceeds on annual leave before completing the 12 continuous months’ year’s service provided that the employee returns to the area to complete the 12 continuous months’ year’s service at the expiration of the period of leave and should such employee not return or complete the required service, service the employer may recover the value of the concession provided.
44.3 (a) The employer will provide the concession by paying or reimbursing costs of annual leave travel for the employee employee, his/her dependent partner and dependents his/her dependent children travelling with the employee him/her up to the cost of the fully flexible Government rates or equivalent standard return economy airfares to Perth as at 1 July June each year, year inclusive of GST, GST for the employee employee, his or her dependent partner and their dependents. Upon request, dependent children provided that:
(i) The class of fare to be used as the employer will provide standard fare is to be agreed between the Union with a schedule and the employer; and
(ii) The fare set is to apply from 1 July of that year to 30 June of the fares used for the purposes of this subclausefollowing year.
44.4 (b) Where an employee elects to use transport other than their own, the employer may require that the travel be booked through the employer and where the cost of the fare exceeds the maximum provided for in paragraph (a) of this subclause 44.3, the employer may require payment, payment or consignment of equivalent leave payments for the difference.
44.5 (c) An employee travelling other than by air is entitled to payment of up to the equivalent fare calculated in accordance with this clause prior to the commencement of his / her leave.
44.6 Only 1 annual leave travel concession per employee or dependent per annum is available.
44.7 For the purposes of determining eligibility for Annual Leave Travel Concession, a dependent will mean:
(a3) a partner; and/or
(b) any child who relies on the employee for their main financial support; who does not have an equivalent entitlement of any kind.
44.8 For the purposes of the definitions at subclause 44.7, a child will be considered to rely on the employee for main financial support where that child is in receipt of income of less than half the annualised WA minimum adult wage as at 30 June of the immediate past financial year, excluding income from a disability support pension.
44.9 Travel concessions not utilised within 12 twelve months of becoming due will lapse.
44.10 (4) Part-time employees are entitled to travel concessions on a pro rata basis according to the usual number of hours worked per week.
44.11 (5) Travelling time will shall be calculated on a pro rata basis according to the number of hours worked. Approved Mode of Travel Travel Concession Travelling Time Time

(c) Air and Road Full motor vehicle allowance rates for car trip, but reimbursement not to exceed the cost of the return air fare for the employee. Air fares for the partner and/or dependent children. On or North of 20° South Latitude - two and one half days each way. Remainder - two days each way.
(6) Employees whose headquarters are located 240 kilometres or more from Perth Employees, other than those designated in paragraph (1) whose headquarters are situated two hundred and forty kilometres or more from Perth General Post Office and who travel to Perth for their annual leave may be granted by the employer reasonable travelling time to enable them to complete the return journey.
