Application of Layoff. 8/1/1 The Union recognizes the right of the Employer to layoff employees or to reduce their hours of employment in accordance with the procedures set forth in this Article. Such procedures, however, shall not apply to: A. Temporary layoff of less than twenty (20) consecutive calendar days, unless the parties mutually agree to apply all or part of the procedures to such situations. Where volunteers in the work unit are considered, seniority shall be a consideration; and/or 8/1 2 The total period of each temporary layoff in 8/1/1/A shall be in consecutively scheduled workdays.
