APPOINTMENT OF LATERAL TRANSFER EMPLOYEES. ‌ Effective upon Board of Supervisors’ approval of this Agreement, the provisions of this Article shall apply to those employees in the classifications of Correctional Deputy, Sr. Correctional Deputy, or Correctional Sergeant deemed by the Sheriff and Human Resources Director as Lateral Transfer Employees upon initial appointment. A lateral transfer employee is generally described as one who possesses a Standards and Training for Corrections Certificate and is currently employed by a California County Sheriff's Office or State of California Prison in an equivalent position with at least one year of continuous service.
