Appointment Process. a) The Xxxxxxx in consultation with the Xxxx shall determine when a vacant position exists and the academic discipline and/or specialties of the position. The Xxxx shall determine the experience, qualifications and any professional credentials or designations required of the candidate and prepare a posting for the position. The posting shall include: i. a description of the position to be filled; ii. the qualifications required by a candidate; iii. any special conditions of the position; iv. a statement that the candidate shall be expected to have skills in the integration of technology into Teaching and to model those skills in their own Teaching in the University’s web-centric and mobile learning environment; v. a statement that the position is covered by this Agreement with a website reference to the Agreement and to the Association; vi. the following equity statement: “Ontario Tech University is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates, while especially encouraging applications from women, members of visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and persons of any sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.”; and vii. a statement that “All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents shall be given priority.” b) Tenured, tenure-track, and teaching faculty positions shall be advertised, normally in University Affairs, the CAUT Bulletin and the University’s web site.
