Appointments Categories. Faculty Appointments 12.01 Appointments to the full-time faculty of York University shall fall into one of two (2) streams: (a) Professorial, (b) Alternate, each of which contains three (3) classifications: (i) tenured, (ii) probationary, (iii) contractually limited. 12.02.1 Rank titles in the Professorial Stream shall be: Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Rank titles in the Alternate Stream shall be: Assistant Lecturer (Chargé d’enseignement); Associate Lecturer (Chargé de cours); and Senior Lecturer (Maître de cours). 12.02.2 The total of the salary rates of that component of the bargaining unit holding Alternate Stream appointments shall not exceed 15% of the total of the salary rates of the bargaining unit as a whole.
