Continuing Appointment. A continuing appointment shall continue until retirement or until otherwise terminated pursuant to this Agreement.
Continuing Appointment. An appointment of a Librarian Member, Archivist Member, or Continuing Adjunct faculty Member without term, subject to the provisions of this Agreement. A calendar day. The senior academic officer of a Faculty, appointed in accordance with procedures laid down for the governance of the University by the Senate and the Board. Normally, the word Xxxx shall encompass anyone acting in that capacity, or delegated to do so in certain matters.
Continuing Appointment. Librarian Member Appointment with rank and DOE involving the Academic and Professional Responsibilities according to the provisions of Article 25: Rights and Responsibilities of Librarians. Continuing Appointment may be conferred according to the following:
1) Successful completion of a probationary period according to Article 28: Continuing Appointment, Promotion and Review of Librarian Members; or
2) At the time of initial Appointment, consistent with Article 28: Continuing Appointment, Promotion, and Review of Librarian Members. Librarian Members cannot be dismissed except, and only for, cause and in accordance with the provisions of Article 39: Discipline.
Continuing Appointment. 14.4.1 Continuing Appointment signifies the right of a Member to continuous and permanent appointment, which may be terminated only through resignation, or retirement, or financial exigency under the provisions of Article 24, or by dismissal for just cause under the provisions of Article 26.
14.4.2 A Librarian with appropriate academic qualifications and professional experience may be granted a Continuing Appointment without serving a Provisional Appointment or Candidacy Appointment, pursuant to 16.4.2.
14.4.3 An assessment for a Continuing Appointment shall occur under the procedures and criteria set out in Article 16. Notification of the awarding or denial of a Continuing Appointment shall occur no later than 3 months prior to the termination of the Candidacy Appointment. A copy of this notification shall be sent to the Association.
Continuing Appointment. 15.2.2.1 A Continuing appointment signifies the right of a Librarian Member to continuous and permanent employment, which may be terminated only through resignation, or retirement, or financial exigency under the provisions of this Agreement or by dismissal for just cause under the provisions of this Agreement.
15.2.2.2 A Librarian Member with appropriate academic qualification and professional experience may be granted a Continuing appointment without serving a Probationary appointment.
Continuing Appointment. An ongoing appointment for a Librarian or SLI Member that commences after a probationary period of employment. A period of twelve (12) months that commences on July 1 of one calendar year and ends on June 30 of the next. Chairs’ Review Committee for the awarding of Career Development Increments for Chairs (see Article 25). An initial or subsequent affiliation of a Teaching Member to two (2) or more Programs. The Confederation of University Faculty Associations of British Columbia. A day of the week, Monday through Friday, excluding all holidays observed by the University. The Xxxx of a College, or the Xxxx of Graduate Studies.
Continuing Appointment. 4.10.1.1 A sessional Employee who has completed four (4) semesters of employment within the last thirty-six (36) months shall be eligible for a continuing appointment with the opportunity for reappointment, subject to the conditions specified in Article 4.
Continuing Appointment. Promotion to Senior Librarian
Continuing Appointment. 24.01 Continuing appointment shall mean a non-Faculty appointment without term, such as, but not limited to, Librarian, Instructor or Coach, that continues until retirement or until otherwise terminated in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement.
24.02 Decisions on the granting of continuing appointments shall be made by the President, who shall give due consideration to the recommendations of:
(1) the Tenure/Promotion and Continuing Appointment Committee (TPCAC), as defined in Clauses 13.02 and 13.03;
(2) the Chair/ Director of the Member applicant’s Department/ program (where applicable);
(3) the Xxxx/Administrator; and
(4) the Vice-President (Academic).
24.03 The Employer recognizes that alternative career paths may be an essential component of an Employment Equity Program. In this situation or in exceptional circumstances, on the recommendation of the Xxxx/Administrator and the Vice-President (Academic), the President may grant an extension of the probationary period of up to two (2) years beyond the period defined at the time of the original probationary appointment if the Member has applied in writing to the Xxxx/Administrator no later than April 1 of the penultimate year of a probationary appointment. A similar extension of the probationary period for up to two (2) years shall be granted if the Member takes maternity/parental leave, takes leave to care for an infirm family member, or takes sick leave.
Continuing Appointment. A Teaching Faculty Member normally will have an initial three (3) year probationary appointment. The appointment may be renewed as a Continuing Appointment after a review of the performance of the Teaching Faculty Member. With the approval of the Xxxxxxx, a Teaching Faculty Member may be hired directly into a Continuing Appointment as an Associate Teaching Professor.
