Common use of Assessment of “Recognized Years of Experience Clause in Contracts

Assessment of “Recognized Years of Experience. 6.5.1 For every teacher, the Superintendent shall determine how many years of work experience potentially could be recognized by the District for purposes of vertical step placement. However, recognized years of experience shall not correspond directly to salary schedule step: (1) to the extent that this Agreement establishes other criteria as the basis for setting salaries, and/or, does not establish a one-to-one correspondence of vertical steps to years of experience; and/or (2) because the number of recognized years may exceed the highest allowed vertical step. This information shall also be used in determining the step placement of new hires under 6.4.
