Attempted Suicide Clause Samples

The Attempted Suicide clause defines how situations involving an insured individual's attempted suicide are treated under an agreement, typically an insurance policy. This clause often specifies that if the insured attempts suicide, certain benefits—such as life insurance payouts—may be excluded or limited, especially if the attempt occurs within a specified period after the policy begins. Its core function is to prevent misuse of the policy and to allocate risk by ensuring that coverage is not provided in cases where self-harm is intentional and foreseeable.
