Common use of Basic Benefit Clause in Contracts

Basic Benefit. Effective January 1, 2008, the County will provide a default basic life insurance benefit of $18,000 with no charge to the employee. The basic life benefit will include a dependent life benefit of $2,000 (benefit reduction may apply prior to 6 months of age) automatically for each of the employee’s dependent spouse/qualified dependent children. No enrollment is generally required except that Domestic Partners and/or their dependents must be enrolled in the program as the dependent of an employee in order to be eligible for the dependent benefit.
