Common use of Basis of Leave Clause in Contracts

Basis of Leave. All full-time employees upon completion of sixty (60) working days shall be eligible to be granted sick leave with pay for periods of up to fifteen (15) weeks during unavoidable absence due to illness or injury not compensable under the provisions of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. In the event of a recurrence of an illness or injury within three (3) months of a return to work following the most recent absence, such recurrence shall be deemed to be a continuation of the original illness or injury for the purpose of sick leave pay. In the event of a recurrence of an illness or injury beyond three (3) months of a return to work following the most recent absence such recurrence shall be deemed to be a new illness or injury.
