Common use of Between Work Areas or Shifts Clause in Contracts

Between Work Areas or Shifts. If no vacancy has been created (or if a vacancy has been 11 created or a shift opening occurs, and the Appointing Authority determines to fill the vacancy or 12 shift opening without adding another employee) and it is necessary to reassign an employee 13 within thirty-five (35) miles, the Appointing Authority shall request volunteers from among 15 shift from which the reassignment is to be made. If one or more employees volunteer for the 16 reassignment, the most senior qualified volunteer shall be reassigned.
