Establish levels of support services and courses of instruction, including special programs, and to provide for athletic, recreational and social events for students, all as deemed necessary or advisable by the Board. G. Determine the services, supplies and equipment necessary to continue its operation and to determine all methods and means of distributing, disseminating, and/or selling its services, methods, schedules and standards of operation; the means, methods, and processes of carrying on the work including automation or contracting thereof, or changes therein; the institution of new and/or improved methods or changes therein. H. Adopt rules and regulations. I. Determine financial policies and accounting procedures. J. Determine the number and location or relocation of its facilities, including the establishment or relocation of new schools, buildings, groups, and divisions or sub-divisions thereof, and the relocation or closing of offices, groups, divisions or sub-divisions, buildings or other facilities. BOARD OF EDUCATION RIGHTS. A. B. The Association agrees to furnish the Board of Education, through the Superintendent, in response to reasonable requests from time to time all available information concerning Teacher retirement and Teachers not returning to the North Xxxxxxxxx County Schools. The Association shall also provide the Board with all information necessary for processing of grievances. C. The foregoing is subject to the provisions of Public Act 379 and the specific provisions of this agreement, state and federal laws and/or Agreement. A rticle IV ­ Teachers’ Hours & Class Load A. Teachers may be required to remain a sufficient period after the Constitutions close of the State school day to attend such professional matters as curriculum study, curriculum council, reasonable number of Michigan and/or Teachers’ meetings, parent conferences, student conferences, administrator conferences, or any other professional requirements that will enhance the United States position of Americathe Teacher in the school and community. B. The normal Teachers’ working day will include the following: 1. Not less than a 30 minute lunch period. 2. 300 minutes of planning time in a normal 5-day week. 3. Teacher’s hours shall be from 8:15 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. 4. Teachers will be in their classroom by 8:20 a.m. with instruction beginning at 8:30 a.m. C. When a Teacher finds it necessary to leave the school grounds early for the remainder of the day during school hours for any reason, the principal of the building, or his representative, shall be consulted. All reasonable effort shall be made by the principal to grant such a request. D. The school year shall be 180 student instruction days plus five (5) Teacher In-service days. Teachers may elect to attend conferences approved in advance by administration to meet the number of professional development days required. Teachers are responsible for maintaining records on a designated form of their professional development on an annual basis and must submit the record to administration by June 30th of each school year. Any Teacher who fails to document the required five (5) days of professional development by June 30th of each school year will have one (1) sick day deducted from the Teacher’s sick leave accumulation. E. A Teacher who agrees to supervise a class during his/her preparation period for an absent Teacher shall receive compensation of $25 per hour. Teachers may elect to accrue compensation time in lieu of payment. Each Teacher shall be responsible for reporting this time to administration within two (2) school days after it has been worked, including elementary Teachers when substitutes are not available for special Teachers. F. If a Teacher shall teach more than the normal load as set forth in this Article, he/she shall receive additional compensation of one-sixth or one-seventh his/her salary, for each teaching period in excess of such norms depending on the number of class periods in the normal school day. G. Teachers will not report for work on days when school is closed because of inclement weather. 1. Scheduled days of student instruction which are not held because of conditions not within the control of school authorities such as inclement weather, fires, epidemics, mechanical breakdowns, or health conditions as defined by the city, county, or state health authorities, may be rescheduled at the discretion of the Board of Education to insure that there are a minimum of one hundred eighty (180) days of actual student instruction. Teachers will receive their regular pay for days which are canceled but shall work on any rescheduled days with no additional compensation.

The Board, on its own behalf and on behalf of the electors of the school district, hereby retains and reserves unto itself, without limitations, all powers, rights, authority, duties and responsibilities conferred upon and vested in it by the laws and the Constitution of the State of Michigan and/or the United States. Nothing in this Agreement shall in any way prevent or limit the Board from participating in cooperative educational programs with any entities. B. The Union recognizes that the Board is legally responsible for the operation of the entire school system within the boundaries of the Xxxxxx-Xxxxxx School District, Muskegon County, and that the Board has the necessary authority to discharge all of its responsibilities subject to laws above mentioned and to the provisions of this Agreement. C. The Union Association recognizes that the Board may invoke appropriate disciplinary action, action in situations where employees members fail to adhere to the terms and conditions of employment herein outlined or to reasonable rules, regulations and, and policies of the Board. The Board also has the right to direct working forces, including the right to evaluate and lay off employees, and establish provisions for health and safety and first aid. D. Manage C. The Board shall manage and control its business, its equipment and its operation and to direct the working force and affairs of the school district. E. Hire D. The Board shall hire all employees and, teachers and determine their qualifications subject to the provision of the law, to determine their qualifications. F. Establish E. The Board shall establish levels of support services and courses of instruction, including special programs, and to provide for athletic, recreational and social events for students, all as deemed necessary or advisable by the Board. G. Determine F. The Board shall determine the services, supplies and equipment necessary to continue its operation and to determine all methods and means of distributing, disseminating, and/or selling its services, methods, schedules and standards of operation; the means, methods, and processes of carrying on the work work, including automation or contracting thereof, or changes therein; the institution of new and/or improved methods or changes therein. H. Adopt G. The Board shall adopt rules and regulations. I. Determine H. The Board shall determine financial policies and accounting procedures. J. Determine I. The Board shall determine the number and location or relocation of its facilities, including the establishment or relocation of new schools, buildings, groupsdepartments, and divisions or sub-divisions subdivisions thereof, and the relocation or closing of offices, groupsdepartments, divisions or sub-divisionssubdivisions, buildings or other facilities. K. J. The exercise of the foregoing powers, rights, authority, duties and responsibilities by the Board shall be limited only by the terms and provisions of this agreementAgreement, state and federal laws and/or the Constitutions constitutions of the State of Michigan and/or the United States of America.
