Common use of Budgetary Restraint Clause in Contracts

Budgetary Restraint. It is agreed that should the Board need to reduce services for budgetary reasons, a meeting may be called by the Board. At the meeting the Board will advise the Union of the amount needed to be saved through staff/service level reduction. In good faith, the Union will work with the Board by providing advice as to recommended ways to achieve the reductions. Nothing in this Agreement will preclude the Parties from agreeing to re-open the Agreement in order to provide a wage adjustment for an increase in job security.
