Categories for Faculty Evaluation. The foundation of the evaluation process is the triad of Teaching and Advising, Scholarship, and Service. It is the responsibility of the faculty member to present evidence of his or her achievements and activities in each of the three areas. The criteria do not comprise a prescription to be followed, but rather an outline to be embellished and fleshed out so as to make the most compelling case possible to his or her colleagues. It should be recognized that teaching and advising, scholarship, and service activities may overlap. Therefore, it is appropriate to include such activities under multiple headings for evaluation. The evaluation of Bargaining Unit faculty members includes the following categories: a. Teaching and Advisement; b. Scholarship, Research, and Creative Activity; and
