Certificate Allowances. The certificate allowances, identified in Schedule A, shall be paid to all permanent Employees who hold the respective certificate. It is the Employee’s responsibility to provide the physical certificate to the Employer. The Employee will receive the allowance the month following receipt of the certificate and there will be no back pay. Payment will not be made for more than one certificate.

Certificate Allowances. Firefighter personnel earning and using the following certifications on behalf of the City, will receive allowances as outlined below, added to their base pay. Employees receiving such allowances will be chosen by the Fire Chief or his/her designated representative. This decision will be based on the employee’s accepting responsibility for the role and active participation in the the program (if applicable), to be re-evaluated annually. Total expenditures for all certificate allowances and assignment pay may not exceed $12,000 per fiscal year.
