Common use of Certification Premium Clause in Contracts

Certification Premium. A certification premium of one dollar ($1.00) per hour worked shall be paid to those employees who have achieved and maintain a current national certification beyond that which is required per their job description. This certification must be approved by the department manager. In order to acquire such premium, the employee covered by this Agreement must make a written application to the unit/department manager and provide appropriate documentation regarding the certification for which the premium pay is requested. An employee will only be compensated for one (1) certification. Such information must be verified by Human Resources prior to compensation.
