Work on Holidays. An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.

Work on Holidays. Full-time and part-time nurses required to work on the following holidays shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times the nurse’s regular rate of pay: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Designated holidays begin at 10:45 p.m. on the eve of the holiday and end at 11:15 p.m. the evening of the holiday.
Work on Holidays. All full-time, part-time and reserve employees who work on the following holidays, New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day which shall include the four (4) shifts beginning at 3:00 p.m. on December 24 and ending at 11:00 p.m. on December 25, shall be paid at the rate of one and one half (1-1/2x) times the employee’s regular rate of pay for all hours worked on the holiday shift.

This provision does not apply to an employee who is off on leave without pay during the same pay period as the assigned holiday.

Any such employee whose regularly scheduled day off falls on a paid assigned holiday, shall be credited with vacation leave hours equivalent to the employee’s standard daily work schedule, but credit shall in no case exceed twelve (12) hours.

Work on Holidays. It is understood that no employee will be requested to work on a holiday unless absolutely necessary. Employees required to work on holidays shall be paid overtime or earn compensatory time according to Article 7. Employees who are assigned to work on the Saturday and Sunday between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day will be compensated at the rate of time and one-half.
