Chair of the MSC. (a) It is acknowledged that subsection 3(4) of the Medicare Protection Act requires the Lieutenant Governor in Council to designate a member of the MSC appointed to represent the Government as the Chair of the MSC. The Minister will Consult with the Doctors of BC prior to the appointment or reappointment of the Chair of the MSC. (b) The Chair of the MSC must act in a manner that is consistent with the purpose of the Medicare Protection Act and in the spirit of this Agreement and shall not execute or initiate matters or changes not previously authorized or agreed to by the MSC in the period between meetings of the MSC.
