VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS. 3.3.1 During the work year, written notices of vacancies and new positions within the bargaining unit will be posted on the District jobs website for not less than five (5) working days. For an applicant to be considered for a vacant or new position, they must:
a. Submit their online application and all other required application materials no later than five (5) working days from the first day of the posting, and
b. Possess the minimum skills and qualifications applicable to the vacant or new position.
3.3.2 A vacancy is an open position within the bargaining unit or non represented groups over 10 hours per week (i.e., 2.1 hours per day). Employees who meet the posted qualifications will receive an interview for the position upon application. Applicants not receiving an interview or offer of position will be given feedback, upon request. Skill tests will not normally be required if the skill requirements of the new position are not greater than the applicant's current assignment unless the skill test is deemed necessary to determine the most qualified applicant. Positions will be filled by any present or prospective employee based upon affirmative action requirements, experience, and job qualifications for the position. If two finalists are considered equal, then the applicant from within the district with the most bargaining unit seniority will be selected for bargaining unit positions.
3.3.3 Employees transferred to new positions in the bargaining unit will receive salary credit at full value for all prior experience gained within the bargaining unit.
3.3.4 Current employees within the bargaining unit who are accepted for a position under Section 3.3.2 above will be given a thirty (30) work day work trial. If the employee's performance on the new job is not satisfactory, she/he will be returned to her/his former position or to another suitable position. Absent just cause for termination, such employee will not be terminated due to her/his unsatisfactory performance during the thirty (30) day trial period.
3.3.5 Increased hours at the worksite will be offered first to the most senior employees within the classification, if qualified as determined by the supervisor at the worksite, providing they have a work schedule which can accommodate the additional hour(s) within a normal work week. VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS. 9.01 Posting of Vacancies or New Positions
VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS. When the County is actively seeking to fill a vacancy or creates a new position within this bargaining unit, the County shall be required to post said vacancy within five (5) working days of such an event. The notice shall be posted for three (3) consecutive working days and shall include a job description, job grade, rate of pay and deadline for application. Each regular full-time employee within the bargaining unit shall have the first opportunity to apply and be considered for such position. Following the posting deadline, the applicants shall be interviewed and evaluated based upon their ability to perform the job. All things being equal, the applicant with the most seniority shall be appointed.
VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS. (a) Appointments to vacancies in existing positions and new positions shall be filled according to the provisions set forth.
(b) First priority of appointment to a vacancy shall be given to qualified employees previously employed and whose names, are on the re-employment list for the said class because of lay-off, leave of absence, downward revision of classification, in that order. Where there is more than one qualified employee to be considered in each of the above, seniority shall prevail.
VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS. 1. Vacancy and New Position Announcements
a. Whenever the District determines that a vacancy exists or develops a new position (currently not listed in Appendix B of this Agreement), the District shall post the vacancy/new position announcement on the District bulletin boards and on the District’s web site for a period of not less than fourteen (14) calendar days. If the District identifies an immediate need, this period can be reduced to not less than seven (7) calendar days. Three weeks prior to and one week following the first day of school for children (based on program calendars), vacancy announcements for instructional positions may be posted for two days only.
b. The announcement shall include the number of hours per day, the work site location, the minimum qualifications for the job, the application procedures, and the time lines.
c. An employee who wishes to be considered for a vacant position must submit her/his name and position of interest via an internal application to Human Resource Services before the vacancy closes.
d. The District may advertise a vacancy/new position to the outside during the same time period.
2. Requests for Reassignment to a Vacant Instructional (Group A) Position
a. Prior to the beginning of the school year, the District shall reassign an employee who has submitted a written request and who has been working in the same position/classification as the vacant position. If two or more employees request reassignment to the same vacant position, the job will be awarded to the employee with the highest classification seniority.
b. After the start of the school year, the District will consider a request for reassignment from an employee who has been working in the same classification. When it will not conflict with the needs of the program as determined by the District, the District will consider a mid-year reassignment. When the District determines that the vacancy will not be filled by an internal applicant, the District will fill the vacancy on a temporary basis for the remainder of the year.
3. Request for Reassignment to a Vacant Office-Based Position The District shall reassign an employee who has submitted a written request and has been working in the same classification/position to the vacant position. VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS. 1. Announcements of all vacancies of the Allegany County Public School System in administration, supervision, special projects, and programs funded by the state and federal government, shall be posted promptly in each Allegany County Public School at least ten (10) school days before the application deadline. Each notice shall list the qualifications, duties, and rate of compensation.
2. During the summer months such announcements shall be posted in the central office and on the application website.
3. If a teacher is interested and meets the qualifications, she/he shall submit her/his application within the time limits specified. Applications shall be acknowledged.
4. Announcement of appointments shall be made through appropriate Board communications.
5. All vacant coaching positions or coaching positions filled by non-certified employees shall be posted by June 1.
VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS. 10.1 Except as otherwise provided in Article 10.13, except for positions of Trackman “B” which need not be bulletined, employees shall be advised by bulletin on the first Monday of each month of all vacancies or new positions in their department (except official positions), including the positions of Extra Gang Xxxxxxx and Assistant Xxxxxxx. (When the first Monday is a statutory holiday, the bulletin will be issued on the next regular working day.) Bulletins will be posted promptly in places accessible to all employees affected. A copy of each bulletin will be furnished to the Union officers of the territory involved. Note: Initial gang bulletins, when issued, will remain open for a minimum of twenty-one (21) days to a maximum of twenty-eight (28) days. Positions advertised will be awarded fourteen (14) days following the close of the bulletin.
10.2 Bulletins will show classifications of position, location and/or expected work locations in production gang advertisements, rest days, closing date, particulars of living accommodation, if the vacancy is temporary, its expected duration and any other information relevant to the position. The format of bulletins will be standard across the System.
10.3 Employees desiring bulletined positions will submit written application, which application must reach the issuing officer not later than the fifteenth day after the date of the bulletin. Applicants must forward a copy of their application to their Local Representative. Applicants bidding on more than one position on the same bulletin must state, in order, their preference.
10.4 Applicants to all positions on seasonal work gangs will be permitted to make application for a position on more than one (1) gang provided the start up time between those gangs is greater than forty-five (45) days.
VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS. FILLING OF VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS E2.01 Except as otherwise provided, the provisions of paragraphs E2.07 to E2.12 of this article apply when a new position is created, or a vacancy is being filled:
a) In a regular full-time position;
b) In a regular part-time position; or
c) In a term position where the specified term exceeds six months.

In circumstances where the Gallery is considering using third party services due to scheduling, resource, technical, or capacity reasons, the Department Manager will meet with the Local President or designate to seek advice and discuss where the capacity to service may be met with in-house resources, the type of third party service to be utilized, and the duration of the assignment.

In the event of a vacancy or a new position in the clerical, para-professional or secretarial area, the Superintendent's Office will post the position for seven (7) business days. Also, the L.F.S.S.A. Chairperson will be notified in writing of the vacancy or new clerical position. Any employee covered by this Agreement may apply in writing for the position and have a personal interview upon request. Consideration will be given to each applicant. If, in the judgment of the Administration, a qualified candidate is not available in the system, the Administration reserves the right to hire from outside the system.
B. Upon consultation with the Association, a new employee may be considered for and placed on 2nd step (Clerical-Paraprofessional) or 3rd step (Secretarial) if his/her qualifications and experience warrant such consideration. New employees will be on a probationary status for a period of ninety (90) days (excluding Winter Recess and Spring Break) and will not be eligible for fringe benefits during this time.
C. The probationary employee shall be notified in writing by the Administration at the end of the probationary period. The evaluation of work and status as an employee shall be made at that time.
D. After a permanent employee has been hired, the L.F.S.S.
A. Chairperson will be notified in writing the name of the employee, the classification, and what salary step the employee is to be paid.
E. If an existing position is to be reclassified, the L.F.S.S.A. Chairperson will be notified in writing. This reclassified position then will be treated as a new position. In the event of up-grading a position, all positions of the same classifications and similar responsibilities will be reviewed for possible reclassification.
